The successful applicant will be a self-motivated, mature individual with excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will be able to work independently as well as a part of a dynamic team. Patience and a love of children is mandatory. The successful applicant will be a part of a team providing an emergent curriculum and safe learning environment for children. RECE preferred. Current CPR and First Aid required. Current criminal reference check required.

Job description

  • Plan, implement, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences based on observations of the children’s interests.

  • Ensure positive interactions and behaviour guidance for children that encourages self-regulation and healthy self-esteem.

  • Ensure the safety of the children and their environment.

  • To work and speak effectively and professionally with parents, families, outside agencies, and other team members.

  • Effective interpersonal skills under all types of conditions, exhibiting a supportive and positive approach.

  • Contribute to the on-going operations of the centre ensuring centre policies and Ministry standards are followed and maintained.

  • Promote the centre within the community.

Start wage $19.25-$21.65/hour

*$2 per hour is provided through a Government Wage Enhancement Grant*
